GOGGLEBOX star Gyles Brandreth has revealed the drama that wasn't shown during the live TV coverage of King Charles' Coronation yesterday.

The TV favourite, who appears on the celebrity spin-off of the Channel 4 show, was one of the famous guests as he was crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

There were plenty of celebrity guests including Lord Lloyd-Webber, Dame Judi Dench, Stephen Fry, Katie Perry and Ant and Dec.

This Morning star Gyles, 75, who is pals with Charles and Camilla, opened up about what it was like being at the historic event - and the things that the viewers didn't get to see at home.

Speaking to the BBC, Gyles said: “There was a coughing fit just nearby.

“ I thought ‘What’s going to happen now’...

"And Dame Emma Thompson was fumbling in her bag and produced a cough sweet which was then passed down the row and given to the cougher then they stopped, which was wonderful, because we were having such music."

The telly favourite felt privileged and over the moon to be there.

“It was deeply moving to be there in the place where for 1000 years and more sovereigns have all been crowned, and to witness the crowning of King Charles III and Queen Camilla," he added.

“I looked around at that very moment and there were tears in a lot of people’s eyes, it was a very moving moment.

The celebrations don't stop there.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will watch tonight as world-famous acts from across the globe perform at the coronation concert.

Millions will watch as Take That, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, Nicole Scherzinger and more perform in celebration of the King.

The big event kicks off at 8pm and is set to run for two hours before coming to a close at 10pm.
