GOGGLEBOX viewers have been left disgusted at an item inside show legend Giles’ home.

As the episode aired on Friday night, the show favourites were seen watching the announcement that the Queen had died, and got emotional as they discovered the news.

But fans of the show were left distracted by Giles’ ‘disgusting’ chair, with one person writing: “Channel 4 please stump up a few extra quid for Giles to buy a new chair.”

Another person added: “the state of Giles' chair,” followed by a shocked face emoji.

And a third said: “That chair's as dirty as sin.”

Giles and wife Mary’s entertaining bickering has delighted Channel 4 viewers since they joined the show in 2015.

The couple refer to each other as Nutty on screen – and they are found staring at their TV set as they critique the week's shows on Gogglebox.

The couple have been married for more than 30 years and live together in their Wiltshire home, dubbed 'The Grottage'.

Before they gained a second career with Gogglebox, Giles dedicated his life to art, while Mary is a journalist whose columns feature in publications including The Spectator.

On tonight’s Gogglebox, as they watched the announcement that the Queen had died, the stars of the show fought back tears.

Gogglebox favourites were seen in tears, with Mary being reassured by Giles as the National Anthem was played.

Jenny was also in floods of tears as she sat and watched on as newsreader Huw Edwards broke the news of the Queen's death.

"She was so busy looking after us," Jenny said through tears.

"Charles has to behave himself," the TV legend added as she discussed Charles becoming King.

Others reminisced on memories they had of old pictures of the Queen, while Mary said they "don't have a female role model anymore."

Viewers of the show admitted to being "in tears" after re-watching the moment the Queen died, and seeing the Gogglebox stars well up.

The Queen died peacefully aged 96 on Thursday 8 September - marking an end to her historic reign and sparking an outpouring of grief around the world.
