Everything you need to know about a potential Hocus Pocus 3
Hocus Pocus 3 still hasn't been officially confirmed by Disney, but if the success of Hocus Pocus 2 is anything to go by, it could well happen.
Following its release on September 30, 2022, the sequel became the most-watched movie premiere on Disney+ in the US ever.
While the ending of Hocus Pocus 2 feels fairly definitive, there is a credit scene that opens the door for a potential return for the Sanderson sisters. And just because the threequel has yet to be confirmed, don't lose hope; the sequel took nearly 30 years to arrive.
So, will there be a Hocus Pocus 3? Here's everything you need to know so far. Be warned, major spoilers for Hocus Pocus 2 follow.

Hocus Pocus 3 potential release date: When could Hocus Pocus 3 be released?
As mentioned above, Hocus Pocus 3 has yet to be officially confirmed by Disney so there's no release date yet for the threequel.
We'd hope we wouldn't be waiting another 29 years for another movie, so if the sequel is a success, Disney might want to move quickly on another outing with the Sanderson sisters.
Even if that does happen, we doubt you'd see the third movie before Halloween 2024 – and that's assuming it even gets confirmed. Watch this space, and we'll update whenever we hear more.
Hocus Pocus 3 cast: Who will return for Hocus Pocus 3?
According to sequel star Whitney Peak: "They can always come back. It would be hard to create a third movie without the Sanderson Sisters, because it's their movie. They are Hocus Pocus. It's hard to imagine what a movie would be like without them," (via EW.)
However, while Najimy has teased that they'll never say never, she also said that the three stalwarts felt like they had finished with the roles: "I feel like we're done. We've pulled every story you could pull out of this. I guess, never say never, but I feel grateful that we got to do it again. I don't know that there are plans for a third one."

At the time of Hocus Pocus 2's release, one Sanderson sister, Bette Midler, did hint that she would consider a return.
Midler revealed that: "If there was a third one, of course I'd sign on, but I don't know how. I can't imagine what the story would be, but I love Winifred, Sarah, Mary, and our relationship. It's good for women.
"We stick together through hell and high water, but we do cause mayhem, and not many women cause that much mayhem!"
However, more recently it seems she may have gone off the idea.
Asked on the red carpet for the 25th Costume Designers Guild Awards in February 2023 whether she would return for a third outing, Midler told E! News: "I'm not sure. Everything is weird. I don't know – maybe. Who knows?"
If there is a third movie, Doug Jones' Billy Butcher likely won't return given he, too, went on to the afterlife when Winnie disappeared at the end of the movie – her curse finally broken.

Given there aren't any other deaths, any of the cast of Hocus Pocus 2 could return, including Whitney Peak as Becca, Belissa Escobedo as Izzy, Lilia Buckingham as Cassie, Sam Richardson, Tony Hale and others.
The young trio that lead the sequel certainly seem keen for a return. "If there's a third, I want one of us to get corrupted by the power. I just know it would be Cassie," Buckingham told EW.
Peak, meanwhile, told Hollywood Life she was down for another movie, and even has an idea of how it would work.
"There was maybe potentially a second black flame candle [at the end of the movie], and somebody's going to have to light it," she said. "Maybe it's my turn to put some kids in their place."
More excitingly, the OG stars who weren't in Hocus Pocus 2 have told EW they'd be up for appearing in a third film. Jason Marsden, who voiced Binx the cat, said he would "absolutely" join the threequel.
Vanessa Shaw, who played Allison, likewise wanted to return, saying: "Yeah, it's such a fun story and obviously having us reminisce about this makes it that much more fun, and the fondness keeps growing."
Omri Katz, who played Max, added: "I'd be 100 percent down to do it." But, taking into account that the OG witches are now older, he said "[W]e've got to get this done sooner than later. We can't wait another 30 years. Sorry, it's the truth! I'm sure Bette does not want to be doing this at age 98."
Shaw, however, disagreed and said: "She has the best time. I bet she will. The craggier, the better!" Will this all come to pass? Only time will tell...
