We're still possibly more than a year away from the release of the Clarkson's Farm's third season but fans have already been offered hints about what they can expect. Jeremy Clarkson's farming show follows the former Top Gear presenter as he struggles to manage a 1,000-acre farm in a quiet corner of the Cotswolds.

Highlighting challenges such as disobedient animals, unresponsive crops and harsh weather, the Amazon Prime Video series has earned Clarkson and his agricultural advisor Kaleb Cooper recognition at the British Farming Awards. Fans are already eagerly awaiting the next batch of episodes, which could be released around August 2024.

Both Clarkson and Amazon Prime has already given fans a glimpse of what the third season will cover - including new animals. Here's everything we know about the series so far.

New animals

Clarkson himself has already hinted that the third season could see the introduction of a new animal to the farm after previously raising sheep, chickens and cows. After a fan said he was in the queue for the Diddly Squat Farm Shop on Twitter, Clarkson responded: "I’m sorry it’s so long. I’d come over if I wasn’t feeding the pigs. And if I didn’t have such a massive hangover."

One fan responded: "Fantastic to hear about the pigs. Can't wait for season three."

Another said: "Pigs, you say…? Season three perhaps. And more of your farm dogs."

Clarkson is yet to directly confirm whether the pigs will star in season three. However, he did recently share a post on Instagram showing him holding a piglet, captioned: "An piglet. Our first."

Recent Instagram posts have also revealed that Clarkson has appeared to introduce goats to the farm, with one video showing several of them clambering over the presenter.

Untouched land - and new faces

Amazon has previously said the third season will follow Clarkson as he taps into 513 acres of land on Diddly Squat, including woodlands and lakes, which have yet to be touched. Reported by The Sun at the time, Jeremy said of the news: "I’m genuinely thrilled that we are doing a third season of Clarkson’s Farm.

"I’ve had some great new ideas, all of which have made Charlie, Lisa and Kaleb deeply unhappy."

Kaleb Cooper added: "I’m over the moon to be taking part again. Well, they do say third time’s a charm! Maybe this will be the series that Jeremy finally starts taking advice from a real farmer."

As well as the return of fan favourites, Amazon has also teased the third series could see the introduction of new faces at the farm.
Ongoing planning battles

Filming for the season is already underway and will cover the latest year in farming from 2022 into 2023. It is therefore possible that the third season could touch on Clarkson's ongoing battle with West Oxfordshire District Council, which often opposed his plans for the farm.

As season two shows, Clarkson opened a restaurant in an abandoned barn on his farm last summer after he found a "delightful little loophole". However, the council soon ordered the farm to shut the restaurant, saying at the time that its "nature, scale [and] siting is unsustainable and incompatible with its countryside location within the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty".

Clarkson later decided to fight back though and appealed against the decision, with a final decision by the Planning Inspector expected in the coming weeks.
