You can now watch Alexander Lincoln's new movie In From the Side on Netflix in the UK. The former Emmerdale star, known to soap fans for portraying Jamie Tate, plays the lead role in the rugby queer drama from writer-director Matt Carter. Co-penned with Adam Silver, In From the Side follows two players, rookie Mark (Lincoln) and rugby star Warren (Alexander King), who have a drunken sexual encounter that develops into an affair, jeopardising their future with their respective partners and on the pitch once it all comes out.

"It's about raw lust, throwing caution to the wind, not really thinking about other people's feelings and having it all blow up in your face," Lincoln said of the film, first released in 2022.
"I think everyone can relate to that, whether you've had an affair or not."
Lincoln's performance was longlisted for Breakthrough Performance at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA), with the actor calling his nod "a huge moment" in his career.

The film also gave Lincoln the chance to open up about his sexuality on the social media platform, receiving the support of his followers. Though he had previously discussed this, he reiterated he isn't straight following the release of In From the Side.
"Thanks so much – really appreciate it!!!! And no, I'm not straight," he responded to a fan who asked if the actors were posing as gay in the movie.
In From the Side is available to stream on Netflix.
